Simba head coach Fadlu Davids has promised to use a different approach when they take on Bravos do Maquis in their CAF Confederation Cup fixture on Sunday.
The Wekundu wa Msimbazi will go into the must-win Group A fixture at Estádio 11 de Novembro in Talatona seeking to seal their place in the quarter-finals of the competition.
As it stands, Simba are second on the table with nine points, the same number as CS Constantine, who will face last placed CS Sfaxien at Stade Mohamed-Hamlaoul on Sunday.
“This match will be quite different from our last one,” said Davids as quoted by Daily News. “We are up against a team that thrives at home, so we must be strategic in our approach. It’s crucial that we don’t let them dictate the tempo of the game. Instead of playing to their strengths, we must maintain control, both with and without the ball.”
On the importance of the game, the South African coach explained: “The result on Sunday is important for us to qualify, but we are also focused on the bigger picture. After this, we still have to face Constantine and that will also be a key match.”
Bravo do Maquis boast a strong home record in the competition, having won both of their home matches with a 3-2 scoreline, defeating CS Sfaxien and CS Constantine.
