ASEC Mimosas coach Julien Chevalier admitted his side ASC Jaraaf deserved to win in their CAF Confederation Cup tie. The defeat left ASEC Mimosas in a very tight situation to progress to the quarter finals.
The French coach, as quoted by WiwSport, told reporters after the game their hope lies on the result of other teams.
"Let's say that we no longer have our destiny in our hands. It's a disappointment to have to leave with zero points today. We showed too many weaknesses in this match and it's something that puts us in difficulty now. It is over yet. Because there is one match left for the four teams in the group and we will have to get the best possible result in the last match."
Ivorian side ASEC Mimosas are third in their group with five points, three shy of second placed Jaraaf. Jaraaf faceoff group leaders USM Alger away in the last game whilst ASEC Mimosas are at home to Botswana outfit Orapa United.
