Ivorian giants ASEC Mimosas kept the tie close but Moroccan champions RS Berkane are through to the CAF Confederation Cup semifinals following a 1-0 second leg victory at home on Wednesday. After achieving the same result in Abidjan in the first leg, RSB advance with a 2-0 aggregate victory.

ASEC had a giant task ahead after falling at home and Les Mimos did well to keep RSB from pouncing early. However, it was always going to be difficult to challenge the intimidating RSB defense, even without Burkinabe star Issoufou Dayo, and the visitors had a difficult time posing a threat.

After creating a couple of chances in the early stages, the ASEC weapons went silent in the second half. With tension remaining due to the narrow 1-0 aggregate lead, RSB forward Oussama Lamlioui put the hosts beyond reach in the 77th minute. Senegalese forward Paul Bassene got on the end of an excellent pass into the penalty area and cleverly flicked back for Lamlioui to fire in the match winner.
