Simba SC coach Fadlu Davids believes his side totally dominated their Caf Confederation Cup fixture against CS Constantine and deserved to win by either 5-0 or 6-0 on Sunday.

The final Group A fixture at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium had one significance, Simba needing a win to top the group. And the Tanzanian Premier League giants did exactly that after two second half goals courtesy of Leonel Ateba and Denis Kibu ensured they finished group.

“We created chances in the first half and couldn’t score, but at half-time we corrected a few details that were key and how we started the second period and even how we went even higher the pitch and pushing the opponent, was good and we kept the pressure on despite not having a crowd and that is exactly how we want to play football,” Davids told Pan-Africa Football after the game.

“To dominate and not allow any counter attacks, I don’t want to be disrespectful but it should have been five or six goals for us but it was really a fantastic performance overall and that is exactly how we want to see football played in total domination from start to the finish.”

On Elie Mpanzu’s performance, Davids said: “I am very happy for Mpanzu, it is difficult to stay away for some months and come back stronger the way he did. There is a lot of details that goes into how we play, and he did very well with the rest of the squad.”

Simba ended the group with 13 points, one more than Constantine.
