CAFCC: Simba SC fined, forced to play Confederation Cup finale behind closed doors

Simba SC of Tanzania announced that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has imposed sanctions following incidents of violence during their match against CS Sfaxien on December 15, 2024.


The sanctions include a $40,000 fine and an order to play one match behind closed doors.


The next game for Simba SC, their final match in Group A, will be against the Algerian side CS Constantine in Tanzania on Sunday with both teams having clinched qualification to the quarterfinals.


In an official statement, Simba SC outlined the steps being taken regarding this situation while ensuring the rights of affected fans who have already purchased tickets.

Public Statement


The Simba Club has received a decision from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) regarding the violence that occurred during our match against CS Sfaxien held on December 15, 2024.


That CAF decision has banned our club for two matches; however, the punishment has been reduced to having one match played without fans, along with a fine of $40,000.


We would like to inform the public that we are continuing to follow up on this decision.


Due to this decision, the club has suspended the sale of tickets for our match against CS Constantine, and for fans who have already purchased tickets, we request that these tickets be used in the next match in the quarter-finals.


The Simba Club will continue to ensure compliance with regulations, rules, and laws that emphasize safety and unity in matches.
