Simba SC head coach Fadlu Davids has admitted that they have been watching Al Masry matches in readiness for their face off in the Caf Confederation Cup fixture.
The Msimbazi Reds will come up against the Egyptian side in the first leg of the quarter-final clash at the New Suez Stadium on Wednesday, 2 April, before they return home to host the same side in the return leg on Wednesday, 9 April.
The Tanzanian giants have already arrived in Cairo, just a day after they were involved in a domestic Cup fixture – the Federation Cup – where they secured a 2-1 win to qualify for the next stage of the knockout competition.
“The focus is already there (to face Al Masry), especially the technical team. They are already watching matches of Al Masry and knowing what to expect, what game plan and strategy to use against them,” said Davids.
“We are just getting through this match [Bigman FC], and like I said, a very awkward match at an awkward time, but now it’s about freshening the players up, and we have four sessions to prepare. But there is enough time in Egypt to prepare and do enough sessions to prepare for our tactical plan.”
While naming his travelling squad, the South African coach left out Cameroon forward Che Malone Fondoh alongside veteran Taifa Stars goalkeeper Aishi Manula.
