Simba SC Media Officer Ahmed Ahly has explained what the Tanzanian team wants to achieve at the end of their CAF Confederation Cup return leg semi-final fixture against Stellenbosch at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Sunday.

The Msimbazi Reds secured a 1-0 advantage from their first leg battle at the New Aman Stadium in Zanzibar a fortnight ago, and the Stellies will host them in the return leg of this high-stakes inter-club competition.

“Every player in the squad is ready and willing to help Simba qualify for the final, no player has lost hope (in our qualification chances), following the outcome of the first leg at home, every player is eager to take Simba to first-ever final, every player is seeing the final very close,” Ally told Pan-Africa Football.

“The players have promised nothing but a qualification ticket to the final, the players have already achieved reaching the semis, they have already seen their success so far in the competition, and they are eager to use this as a springboard to qualify for the final.

“We will move across Durban to urge Tanzanians living around to attend the game, we all know that our rivals don’t have many fans around, we want them to be shocked when they enter the pitch during the game, they will every corner with red- t-shirts.”

Should Simba or Stellenbosch progress, they will face the winner of the other semi-final between RSB Berkane of Morocco and CS Constantine of Algeria. Berkane are in pole position to reach the final after a commanding 4-0 first-leg victory at home.
