Stellenbosch FC goalkeeper Sage Stephens says they are not looking for anything short of a win against Zamalek SC in Wednesday’s CAF Confederation Cup quarter final second-leg match.
The keeper said this ahead of the second leg match against Zamalek SC scheduled for Cairo International Airport while addressing the media.
“We are coming here to win. We are coming here to give our all and go as far as possible in this competition. We are not looking for a draw. Our first objective was to ensure we came here with something to play for, now we are here for a win” he said.
Stellenbosch coach Steve Barker echoed his keeper’s remarks, adding that it was a privilege for the Betway Premiership side to compete against giants Zamalek SC.
"We are excited for the match. To be playing a team of Zamalek’s calibre is a privilege and an honour for us. I have always had great admiration for the passion shown by the fans and the passion for football in your country [Egypt],” he said.
Stellenbosch frustrated the holders Zamalek SC in a CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final, first-leg match on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, to keep the semifinal dream alive.
