Al Ahly head coach Marcel Koller stated that his team will give their utmost effort in their upcoming match against Sudan’s Al Hilal in the CAF Champions League.
Al Ahly will host Al Hilal at Cairo International Stadium at 19:00 GMT on Tuesday in the first leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Koller said according to Al Ahly’s official website: "We know very well that it will be a tough match. Our opponent plays well, especially away from home. We will play with the goal of qualifying for the semi-finals."
He added: "We have prepared well, given the players proper rest, and with the return of our international players and a friendly match, we have reignited the passion within the squad. We are highly motivated ahead of the match."
Koller emphasized that there is no comparison between tomorrow’s game and the last encounter between the two teams in the competition. He pointed out that several players have left Al Hilal, along with changes in their coaching staff, making this match entirely different.
He also stressed that every player in the squad holds equal importance and responsibility towards attaining victory. He added that no single player can be singled out, as several players are capable of performing well and helping the team secure the win.
