Algeria's CR Belouizdad earned their first points in Group C at the CAF Champions League with a 1-0 victory over Stade d'Abidjan at the Stade Félix-Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan. CRB striker Aymen Mahious produced the only goal of the match in the 71st minute for an important three points away from home for Le Grand Chabab. Stade d'Abidjan remain without points following their second defeat in two matches.

CRB coach Abdelkader Amrani increased the urgency with his pre-match comments and his charges responded with a determined performance after losing at home to Orlando Pirates in their Group C opener. There was little action in the first half with the only shot on target arriving from CRB attacker Mohamed Belkhir, who spoiled a good opportunity with a weak shot right at Stade d'Abidjan goalkeeper Drissa Bamba.

The hosts from Ivory Coast did not improve their attacking quality in the second half and CRB found the goal they needed in the 71st minute. A quick throw-in provided space for winger Abderrahmane Meziane to attack the Stade defense where he dribbled into the penalty area before laying off for Mahious. The on loan marksman took time to find an opening where his low effort nestled into the corner of the goal.

CRB move to three points from two matches, one behind both Al Ahly and Orlando Pirates, while Stade d'Abidjan look destined to finish at the foot of the table in Group C.
