Abdelaziz Bou Gorbal, President of current Mauritania Super D1 league leaders FC Nouadhibou, expressed his full and unconditional support for Sudanese side Al Hilal in their upcoming match against Egypt’s Al Ahly on his own behalf and on behalf of all components of his club.
Mauritania will play host to Hilal's home match against Ahly in the second leg of the CAF Champions League quarterfinals, scheduled for Tuesday at the Cheikha Ould Boïdiya Stadium in Nouakchott.
The president of Nouadhibou also called on the club’s loyal fans to flock to the stands and support Al Hilal, which he described as "the club of two nations"—Sudan and Mauritania—urging them to stand behind the team on this major football occasion.
It is worth noting that Al Hilal is participating in the Mauritanian league this season due to the ongoing situation in Sudan.
The first leg between Al Hilal and Al Ahly ended with a 1-0 victory for the Egyptian side, making the return leg decisive and open to all possibilities in the race to the Champions League semi-finals.
