Orlando Pirates are bracing for “very difficult and direct” opponents in CR Belouizdad in a CAF Champions League Group C game on Sunday.
Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi said the Algerians can be handy on their day and the Buccaneers need to be alert to the danger.
"We are playing a difficult opponent; highly direct,” he told Pirates media. “They don't hide their intentions of playing direct; playing from second balls.”
He said the Pirates must focus on their strength of keeping possession and concentrating throughout the game.
“We just have to be on alert; be aware of their strength while trying to impose our own game. It is important to perform, as we playing at home, so that we can make our supporters happy,” Ncikazi added.
Riveiro’s men lie in second place, a game in hand and two points behind leaders Al Ahly hence can go top with a win over Beloiuzdad.
Al Ahly defeated bottom-placed Stade d’Abidjan 3-1 on Saturday to condemn the Ivorians out of the quarterfinal race while Beloiuzdad, with six points, are still in the mix.
