In an incredible turn of events, Algerian side MC Alger has managed to sell 35,000 tickets within five hours of their introduction online ahead of a CAF Champions League clash with South Africa's Orlando Pirates. MC Alger will host Pirates on April 1st at the Stade du 5 Juillet in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal clash.

50,000 tickets were made available for fans who wish to attend the crucial quarterfinal first leg. Out of the 50,000 tickets, 35,000 were sold online within a few hours. According to Compétition DZ, the stadium management team reserved 10,000 tickets for later days.

Fans of MC Alger were angered about the late ticket sales after CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinalists CS Constantine and USM Alger sold tickets last Sunday, March 23. Algerian clubs often times use online ticketing systems to sell tickets.

MC Alger are currently top of the Algerian Ligue 1 with 41 points and recently captured the Algerian Super Cup. Fans are excited for their crunch duel against Orlando Pirates in Algiers, which is expected to draw large support from MC Alger fans as well as a hostile atmosphere for visitors Pirates.
