Italy-based defender Elio Capradossi has bolstered the Uganda camp in Cairo, Egypt, ahead of the Cranes' crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mozambique and Guinea.

Initially omitted from head coach Paul Put’s provisional squad due to a flexor injury, Capradossi’s timely recovery has earned him a late call-up.

The AS Cittadella center-back had been out for three weeks but made the bench in his side’s 2-1 defeat to Sassuolo over the weekend.

His arrival brings the camp's tally to 25 players with only defender Timothy Awany of Israeli club FC Ashdod and goalkeeper Isima Watenga of South African club Golden Arrows yet to report.

Put had earlier expressed concern over Capradossi's absence, making his return a significant boost to Uganda's defensive options.

The Cranes will face Mozambique on Thursday, March 20th, at the Cairo International Stadium before hosting Guinea on Tuesday, March 25th, at Namboole.
