Renowned Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz has arrived in Tunisia to finalize an agreement to lead the Tunisia national team, known as the Carthage Eagles.
A suggestion claimed that Queiroz is set to earn an annual salary between €1.5 and €2 million, which includes wages for his assistant coach and the performance analyst.
Queiroz's appointment comes after Kais Yaakoubi served as the interim head coach following Faouzi Benzarti's departure.
Under Yaakoubi's guidance, Tunisia secured their qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Madagascar in the fifth round of qualifiers.

Carlos Queiroz has a long career, having managed European clubs and also national teams in different continents.

Real Madrid (2003-2004): Queiroz served as head coach and led the team to a Spanish Super Cup victory.
Manchester United (2002-2003, 2004-2008): As assistant to Sir Alex Ferguson, he helped secure three English Premier League titles (2003, 2007, 2008) and the UEFA Champions League in 2008.
Iran National Team (2011-2019): Coached 100 matches and achieved FIFA World Cup qualification twice (2014, 2018).
Egypt national team (2021-2022):
Queiroz is no stranger to African football. He previously managed Egypt’s national team between September 2021 and April 2022, overseeing 20 matches. During this time, he guided the Pharaohs to the Africa Cup of Nations final and the World Cup qualification playoff, although they fell short in both instances on penalties.
Portugal National Team (2008-2010): Managed 27 matches, guiding the team in the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification phase.
Sporting CP: Won the Portuguese Cup 1994-1995.
Queiroz's most recent role was with the Qatar national team, where he coached 10 matches in 2023, achieving five wins, one draw, and lost four games.
