Ghana legend, Abedi Pele has given positive vibes about the domestic senior national team ahead of the 2025 CHAN qualifiers against Nigeria.

The Black Galaxies engaged in two friendlies to prepare for the two-legged Championship for Africa Nations qualifiers against their sworn rivals this month.

The first game saw the Black Galaxies beat Abedi Pele’s Nania FC by 1-0 and a further 5-0 victory over second tier side, Northern City at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, Accra.

Abedi Pele threw his support for the team after the two friendlies. “It has been a pleasure for me to have this honour to play against you people today,” Abedi Pele said after the game.

“What I have discovered is your have a strong team, strong physically, technically wonderful. So for me the future is in the making, the future of Ghana football is in the making.

“The reason is, when you are born in this country and you are playing for the national team, the bond, the hunger to succeed, the courage, the determination is paramount. You try to do your possible best and that is what I’m seeing now. Not only physically strong but tactically well organized.

“It’s a very good pleasure for my team to have this experience to play against you people.”

Ghana will host Nigeria in the first leg of the CHAN qualifiers on December 22 in Accra before the return leg at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on 28. The winner of the two legs will qualify for the main tournament to be hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda between 1 and 28 February 2025.
