Uganda Cranes head coach Paul Put has named a 26-man provisional squad ahead of their African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024 qualifier double-header against Burundi.
The two-legged encounter will take place at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo on 26th and 29th December 2024.
Unlike previous CHAN qualifiers, Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania have already secured their places at the final tournament as co-hosts.
Burundi and other East African nations are now vying for the fourth slot allocated to the region.
Coach Put’s squad includes a blend of experience and emerging talent drawn from Uganda Premier League clubs.
The team will commence non-residential training on 21st December before moving into camp at Nob View Hotel to finalize preparations for the two crucial matches.
The CHAN 2024 final tournament is set to take place from 1st to 28th February 2025, offering a platform for local-based players to showcase their talent on the continental stage.
