The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has approved Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, as the venue for Uganda and Burundi's African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024 Qualifier matches.
The two-legged encounter will see Burundi host the first leg on 26th December 2024 with Uganda hosting the return leg three days later, on 29th December 2024, at the same venue.
Both matches will kick off at 6:00 pm. To ensure proper crowd control, CAF has set a maximum attendance of 7,000 fans per game at the stadium. Uganda, as a co-host of the CHAN 2024 Finals alongside Tanzania and Kenya has already secured automatic qualification for the tournament.
The Cranes will use these qualifiers as part of their preparation. On the other hand, Burundi, like other CECAFA region teams will be competing for the only additional slot allocated to the region through the qualifying rounds.
The CHAN 2024 Finals will be staged in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda from 1st to 21st February 2025, marking a historic three-nation co-hosting of the biennial championship.
