Former head coach of the Ghana 'A' national team, Annor Walker, says the Black Galaxies have the strength and verve to beat Nigeria in the first leg of qualifying for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

The rivalry between Ghana and Nigeria will be revived at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday in the playoffs for a slot at the next edition of the finals hosted in East Africa.

Walker led the Black Galaxies to overcome Nigeria in qualifying for the 2022 edition and believes current head coach Mas Ud Dramani can repeat the achievement:

“What they are doing at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence does not indicate that they will lose or draw at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday,” Walker told Asempa FM. “I know that Didi Dramani will win the first leg before they go to Nigeria for the reverse fixture.”

Ghana will face the home-based Super Eagles at the Accra Sports Stadium before traveling to the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo a week later for the reverse fixture on December 28. The winner over two legs will qualify for the tournament to be hosted in the East African nations of Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania next year.
