The captain of the home based Ghana national team, Mohammed Hafiz has expressed confidence ahead of the second-leg clash against Nigeria in the 2025 Championship for Africa Nations qualifiers.
The Black Galaxies were held to a goalless draw by Nigeria in the first encounter in Accra and the return match is at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Abuja on December 28.
Hafiz Ibrahim, speaking about the upcoming match, emphasised that Ghana is not intimidated by Nigeria. "When we go out there and put our best, we know victory will be ours.
“We are not afraid of anyone. Insha Allah, we are going to qualify for Ghana," Ibrahim said.
Black Galaxies head coach Mas-ud Dramani has also stated that his team will score in Nigeria. Ghana aim for back-to-back qualifications after being eliminated at the quarterfinal stage of the 2022 edition.
The team has reached two CHAN finals but has yet to claim the title. The winner of both legs is set to secure a spot in the tournament in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
