Chelsea FC striker Nicolas Jackson has expressed his delight after achieving a small piece of the Premier League club’s history following his goal in the 1-0 win over Everton FC on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
In scoring his 10th goal, the Senegalese forward became the first Blues player to score double digits in back-to-back Premier League seasons since Chelsea legend Didier Drogba.
Reacting to the feat, Jackson said: “It’s a good achievement and I’m very happy, but it’s never enough, we want more. I’ve just come back from injury, and I’m getting back to my level. I was confident when I hit the ball, and it went in.”
The Senegalese player is Chelsea’s second leading scorer in the Premier League this season, four goals behind Cole Palmer.
However, Jackson said what matters now is ensuring a top-five finish, which guarantees European football next season.
“It’s a very important win, especially with us fighting for the top five spots. Every game counts. Now it’s about forgetting this one and focusing on the next one. I’m very happy that we won and I scored. I think I’ve hit the post [trying the same thing] like three times, so I’m happy I scored and we won,” he told Chelsea media.
“We are confident we can finish in the Champions League spots. As you can see, everyone is fighting for it, it just depends on us and now we just focus on the next one.”
In the Premier League run-in, Chelsea are in fifth place, one point behind outgoing Premier League champions Manchester City.
