Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso says he knows how Sekhukhune United can harm the Betway Premiership champions in Saturday’s Nedbank Cup quarterfinal match at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria, South Africa.

Addressing the press on Friday, Cardoso said he was fully aware of the challenge Sekhukhune could pose to Sundowns and what the hosts must do to avoid an upset.

“Whatever the result of the previous match was has nothing to do with how we feel the game would be played. We need to have the best attitude. We know the strong points of Sekhukhune, how they can harm us and how we can control them,” he said.

Cardoso, whose team is chasing glory on all fronts including the CAF Champions League and the Betway Premiership, said Sundowns' ultimate aim was winning the Nedbank Cup.

He added: “We have a strong intention regarding the outcome of the match. It is a competition we want to proceed to the final and play for a trophy. With all the conditions, whatever they are, I am pretty sure we will be very strong.”

Sundowns are coming from a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Golden Arrows two days ago while Sekhukhune lost 2-1 to Richards Bay in a league game to cost the job of Lehlohonolo Seema.
