Cape Town City coach Muhsin Ertugral has expressed frustrations with his side’s continued downward spiral in the Betway Premiership after dropping points in a one-all draw against TS Galaxy on Wednesday.

After a flying start under his interim reign when he defeated Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates back-to-back after replacing Eric Tinkler, City’s wheels have come off going eight games winless in all competitions.

The veteran coach admitted that he was frustrated conceding a goal from a set-piece.

“From the build-up process to the midfield, the entries are there. We just needed to connect. We were getting into zones where you need to connect then you score,” he told SuperSport Television. “It does irritate me because we are working on it and all the work and all the abilities produced goes down the bin.”

Darwin Gonzalez had given the hosts a slight a minute after the half-hour mark only for the visitors to pull level eight minutes later through Mlungisi Mbunjana.

The Citizens remain in 10th place in the standings seven points behind the seventh-placed Galaxy. Etrugral’s men now brace for a stiff challenge against Kaizer Chiefs on March 12, 2025.
