CAF Champions League participants and defending Algeria Ligue 1 champions MC Alger dispatched Ligue 2 club ES Ben Aknoun by a 3-0 score in their Round of 64 match from the Algerian Cup on Monday.

Soufiane Bayazid scored twice for MCA and Ivorian attacker Kipré Zunon added another with all goals arriving in the first half for The Dean. Ben Aknoun, currently leaders in their regional division of the Algerian second tier, had ambitions for a cup upset but those were quickly extinguished by a brilliantly placed header from Bayazid for the first goal in the 3rd minute.

In the 20th minute it was a two-goal lead for MCA after an excellent dribble run and cross from the left wing resulted in an easy finish for Kipré, his first goal in Algerian football since joining from Tanzanian club Azam FC. Bayazid put MCA well beyond reach with a diving header before halftime, his fourth in all competitions this season.

MCA will likely face Ligue 1 title rivals CR Belouizdad in the Round of 32. CRB will face third division club CR Zaouia in their Round of 64 duel on January 6.
