Wydad Casablanca secured their place in the Round of 16 of the Coupe du Trône with a 1-0 victory this Friday against FUS Rabat at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in the Round of 32. A precious victory earned through hard work, at the end of an intense and hard-fought match.

From the very beginning, both teams displayed their attacking intentions. FUS, true to its reputation as an exciting team to watch, relied on the speed of its forwards to disrupt the Wydad defense. Rhulani Mokwena's men responded with a compact and aggressive midfield.

Despite several attempts on both sides, the first half ended goalless, reflecting a well-controlled tactical battle.

It was in the second half that Wydad made the difference. In the 58th minute, Mohammed Moufid burst into the opposition box to beat the Rabati defense and score the only goal of the match. A liberating goal for the Reds, who then managed their lead with rigor and discipline.

FUS, despite a few dangerous forays, never managed to break WAC goalkeeper Youssef El Motie, who was solid behind his defense.

Thanks to this narrow but deserved victory, Wydad continues its adventure in the Throne Cup. In the Round of 16, it will face Moghreb Tetouan who defeated Union Khémisset.
