Simba SC head coach Fadlu Davids believes the level of football was the main undoing for their opponents Kilimanjaro Wonders whom they hammered 6-0 in the Round of 64 fixture of the CRDB Bank Federation Cup on Sunday.

Goals from Edwin Balua, Stephen Mukwala, Joshua Mutale, Patrick Sebastien (own goal), Ladaki Chasambi and Valentino Mashaka were enough to propel the Mainland Premier League giants to the next stage of the knock out competition.

“I think it was important for all players to get some minutes, of course the other players that are not here or not available is only Aishi (Manula) that is out with flu but all the other players are available, they needed to have a rest and now we have to start preparations for the Tabora United game away this week,” Davids told Pan-Africa Football.

“It is well done to the team for making sure we reach this stage of the competition, you always have to be wary of this underdogs, they gave a good account of themselves, a good performance, they tried their best but you know the level was a little bit different but well done to the team and the coach, they have got some good talented players.”

Meanwhile, Kilimanjaro coach Wilbard Pacho conceded defeat by saying: “Simba were the better side, the moment they scored the first goal and then added the second, I knew it was going to be difficult for us to come back into the game, they deserved to win.”
