Young Africans (Yanga SC) have been drawn to face JKT Tanzania in the semi-finals of the CRDB Federation Cup.
The Citizens reached the last four following a commanding 8-1 win against Championship side Stand United at KMC Stadium on Tuesday. Ivorian Stephane Aziz Ki was the stand out player for Yanga, after he notched four goals in the quarter-final contest.
Aziz Ki goals came in the 16th, 52nd, 60th and 64th minutes respectively while Zambia midfielder Clatous Chama grabbed a brace in the 32nd and 40th minutes. The other goals came via Kennedy Musonda and Nickson Kibabage.
The huge win means Yanga remained on course to defend the trophy, as they also chase for the Mainland Premier League title.
Meanwhile, a possible Kariakoo derby is in the offing as Simba were drawn to face Singida Black Stars in the other semi-final. Simba booked their place in the last four following a 3-1 win against Mbeya City.
Simba’s opponent Singida, qualified after defeating Kagera Sugar 2-0 in the other quarter-final clash.
