Young Africans (Media Offcier) Ally Kamwe has revealed the team’s cautious approach as they take on Stand United in a CRDB Federation Cup quarter-final fixture at KMC Stadium on Tuesday.

The last eight fixture will see a Premier League versus a Championship side facing off and according to Kamwe, many have already backed the Citizens to qualify for the semi-finals.

However, Kamwe believes that it is not going to be an easy game, but Yanga are ready and prepared to get the job done.

“It is going to be a tough game, though many people think it is a walk in the park for Yanga, that is not the case, it is a clash between two sides, one in the Premier League and one in the Championship, but if you follow clearly, Stand United are one of the favourites teams with 80 percent chances of qualifying to the Premier League next season,” Kamwe told Pan-Africa Football.

“So they are not in that situation because of bad luck, they are in the situation because they have a good team, they are a determined side and I know they also want to do well against Yanga. Every season we have teams that want to leave a mark in the tournament, and I know Stand United is one of them, and I know that is their target when they face Yanga.

“But as Yanga we are ready for the game, we have taken cautious approach and talked to the technical bench and the players, we are not in a position to take lightly any game we are playing, and I urge Yanga fans that we are ready, we won’t underrate them, we don’t hate Stand United, but we have a target for the season and that is what we want to achieve.”

Stand United coach Juma Hussein admitted that they will face a tough game against the Mainland Premier League champions: “It won’t be an easy game, we will play the game with a lot of respect for Yanga, we know they are a better side than us, they are the champions of Tanzania, and they have more quality than we have going into the match.

“Our target is to qualify for the next round, we will go into the game with only one mindset (to qualify to the semis), we don’t have anything else, Yanga are the best, we go into the game as underdogs, and we know any small mistake we will get punished.

“I have told my players not to play with a lot of pressure, they need to calm down and play their game, everything is possible, we can cause an upset, it is a Cup game, a win is what every team wants, you never know, but we are ready to face them (Yanga).”

Yanga are chasing for trophies in two fronts – domestic Cup, and Premier League, where they are currently topping the 16-team league table.
