Crested Cranes forward Hadijah Nandago etched her name on the scoresheet for the first time in the Indian Women's Super League, though her effort couldn't prevent Sethu Women FC from suffering a narrow 3-2 defeat to Sreebhumi on Sunday afternoon.

Nandago, formerly of Kawempe Muslim Ladies, opened the scoring in the 37th minute, handing Sethu a promising lead.

However, the advantage was short-lived as seasoned forward Devi Ngangom Bala swiftly restored parity for the hosts just two minutes later, ensuring the sides entered halftime deadlocked at 1-1.

The second half saw Sreebhumi seize control, with Ngangom converting from the spot in the 49th minute to put her team ahead.

She went on to complete her hat-trick in the 65th minute, leaving Sethu with an uphill battle.

Babina Lisham managed to reduce the deficit late in the game, but Sreebhumi's defense held firm through the four minutes of added time to secure victory.

The defeat sees Sethu Women FC slip to fifth place, missing the chance to climb to third. They now face a formidable challenge against league leaders East Bengal Women FC on Friday, March 21, 2025.
