Simba SC media officer Ahmed Ally has refused to press the panic button after the Tanzanian club suffered a 2-1 defeat against CS Constantine in their second group match of the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday.

Mohamed Hussein put the Wekundu wa Msimbazi ahead after 24 minutes at the Chahid Hamlaoui Stadium, Constantine in Algeria. But the hosts fought back strongly before Simba’s Abdulrazack Hamza netted an own goal to make it 1-1 after 46 minutes.

Four minutes later Brahim Dib put CS Constantine ahead to make it 2-1. "It is not a good result, we lost despite putting up a good show but one thing i want to say is that the defeat doesn't affect our ambitions to qualify," Ally told Pan-Africa Football.

"We are still aiming to qualify, losing away is not a big deal, it is clear when playing at home you must win your game, we also focus to haul points at home. We want to win all our home matches.

"We deserved to win, we did enough to win but we didn't, we were punished because of our own mistakes in the opening five minutes. We started well and scored first but again, it was not our aim to lose. But we are not worried after the defeat, we need to win our home matches.

"We will go for nine points at Benjamin Mkapa, we won in the opener and our focus now shifts to the home game on December 15. I ask Simba fans to forget about this game, of course it is a bad result but we need to forget and focus for the next game. Our preparations start right away for the second game."

Simba will next host CS Sfaxien on December 15 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
