Congolese supporters will be delighted to see striker Cédric Bakambu in peak form before joining the Leopards for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying this week.

The veteran poacher bagged another goal to continue his revival at Real Betis, coming on as a second half substitute to score the equalizer in an eventual 3-2 victory at Leganes. The 33-year-old, who scored twice in a 4-0 UEFA Europa Conference League victory on Thursday, was aware to head in a rebound and spark the comeback win.

It is an important result away from home for Betis who move closer to a top-5 position. Betis are level with 5th place Villarreal on 44 points as they look to secure a place in UEFA club competition for next season.

Bakambu has performed well in the Conference League this season (5 goals in 9 matches) but has been less productive in La Liga. His 2nd goal in 18 matches could now spark a turning point for his performances in domestic league play.
