
The third round of the Egypt Capital Cup continued, featuring six matches across different groups. The tournament is taking place during the international break, with teams competing without their international players.
Tala’ea El Gaish 3-1 Al Ahly
Al Ahly endured their third straight defeat, this time in the Egypt Capital Cup, as they fell 3-1 to Tala’ea El Gaish.
The Red Devils had already suffered a 1-0 loss to ENPPI in their opening group-stage match of the tournament, following their forfeited defeat against Zamalek in the Nile Egyptian League. Their struggles continued as they lost again to Tala’ea El Gaish in the second round.
For this match, Al Ahly fielded a squad primarily composed of youth players from the 2005 generation, alongside some non-regulars from the first team.
The Egypt Capital Cup is currently being played without international players due to the ongoing FIFA international break.
Tala’ea El Gaish took full advantage of the situation and secured a 3-1 victory.
The match started with an early breakthrough for Tala’ea El Gaish. In the very first minute, the referee awarded them a penalty, which Goodwin Okwara converted in the 4th minute to give his side the lead.
Islam Mohareb doubled the advantage in the 38th minute, firing home from inside the box after a low cross from Yousry Wahid.
Al Ahly responded in the second half, reducing the deficit in the 55th minute when Adam Samir capitalized on a defensive mistake to score.
However, Tala’ea El Gaish restored their two-goal lead, with Yousry Wahid finding the net in the 61st minute by a shot from inside the box which Al Ahly’s goalkeeper failed to handle.
After this result, Tala’ea El Gaish is second in the group C standings with four points, while Al Ahly remains at the bottom with zero points after two rounds.
Petrojet 2-1 Zamalek: Late winner secures Petrojet victory
In Group A, Petrojet claimed a dramatic 2-1 win over Zamalek, scoring a last-minute goal to secure all three points.
Zamalek had an early chance to take the lead, but Nasser Maher missed a penalty in the 10th minute, as former Zamalek goalkeeper Omar Salah made a crucial save for Petrojet.
Tawfik Mohamed opened the scoring for Petrojet in the 57th minute with a precise shot after a solo effort by Rashad Metwally.
Nasser Maher redeemed himself in the 70th minute, heading in a low cross to equalize for Zamalek.
In the 90th minute, Ahmed Farouk sealed the win for Petrojet with a shot, following a brilliant assist from Mostafa El-Gamal.
This victory marks Petrojet’s fourth consecutive win across all competitions.

Ismaily 2-2 Pyramids: Late drama as Ismaily snatch a point
Ismaily and Pyramids played out a 2-2 draw in a Group D encounter.
Dodo El-Gabbas gave Pyramids the lead in the 39th minute with a header from a Tarek Alaa cross. Marwan Hamdy leveled the score for Ismaily in the 55th minute from the penalty spot.
Another Marwan Hamdy struck in the 77th minute, putting Pyramids ahead after a precise pass from Walid El Karti. Abdelrahman El-Dah salvaged a draw for Ismaily in the 88th minute with a well placed long-range strike.
Pyramids maintain their 22-match unbeaten streak, with 18 wins and 4 draws.
National Bank 1-1 Al Masry: Stalemate in top of the table contest
In one of the big matches of the round, Al Masry and National Bank played out a 1-1 draw.
National Bank took an early lead in the 12th minute, as Mahmoud El-Gazzar struck a precise shot from outside the box. Al Masry responded quickly, with Hussein Faisal equalizing through another outside the box shot.
This result extends Al Masry’s winless streak to four matches, including three draws and a defeat, despite a strong start under Tunisian coach Anis Boujelbene, who won his first two games with seven goals scored.

This win ended Haras El Hodood’s four-match winless streak, which included three consecutive losses and a draw. Meanwhile, Al Ittihad got their fifth straight defeat in all competitions.

After this result, ENPPI is at the top of Group C with 6 points from 2 matches, while Pharco sits third with 1 point from 2 games.
