Egypt Capital Cup – Round 4: Zamalek held again, Petrojet and National Bank stay on top

Matchday 4 of the Egypt Capital Cup continued with four encounters across two groups as the competition approaches the conclusion of the group stage.
Zamalek 0-0 Modern Sport
At Cairo International Stadium, Zamalek were held to a goalless draw by Modern Sport.
José Peseiro, Zamalek’s head coach, fielded a second-string side, resting his key players ahead of the CAF Confideration Cup quarter-final second leg against South Africa’s Stellenbosch.
This marks Zamalek’s second consecutive goalless draw, following their stalemate in South Africa.
The result leaves Zamalek in fourth place in Group A with two points from three matches, while Modern Sport sit second with four points—level with El Gouna, but ahead on goal difference.
Al Masry 1-1 Ceramica Cleopatra
In Group B’s headline clash, Al Masry and Ceramica Cleopatra played out a 1-1 draw.
Karim Bambo opened the scoring in the 11th minute after an assist from Senegalese forward Pape Badji. However, Ceramica's Ahmed Kendouci equalized in the 87th minute with a finish inside the box.
The match saw Ceramica manager Ali Maher go up against his former club, Al Masry, who were held to their third straight draw in the tournament.
Ceramica now sit third in the group with four points, one ahead of Al Masry, who are fourth.
ZED FC 1-2 National Bank
National Bank bounced back to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over ZED FC.
Saidou Simpore opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, with his shot touching ZED’s Mohamed Ashraf and finding the net. ZED equalized through Shady Hussein's header in the 40th minute after a cross from Mostafa Saad.
Togolese forward born in Ghana, Yaw Annor sealed the win for National Bank with a left-footed strike in the 82nd minute—his third goal in the competition.
After this result National Bank remains at the top of Group B with eight points from four games, while ZED remain bottom with just a single point.
National Bank qualified for the quarterfinals of Egypt Capital Cup.
Petrojet 1-0 El Gouna
Petrojet continued their impressive run in Egypt Capital Cup with a narrow 1-0 win over El Gouna in Group A.
The game’s only goal came in the 82nd minute, when Rashad Metwally converted from the penalty spot. This marked Petrojet’s third consecutive win in the Egypt Capital Cup and their fifth straight victory in all competitions.
With 12 points from four matches, they sit comfortably at the top of Group A and have qualified for the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, El Gouna, are third with four points from three games.
