Egypt Cup: Premier League clubs advance in all four matches

The third day of the Egypt Cup Round of 32 witnessed four matches, as teams competed for spots in the Round of 16. In all four matches, Egyptian Premier League clubs emerged victorious against second division clubs.


Ismaily 1-0 Tanta


Ismaily secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Tanta in the opening match of the day. The game's only goal came in the 28th minute when Ali Al-Melwany found the back of the net. With this win, Ismaily progresses to face ENPPI in the Round of 16.



National Bank of Egypt 1-0 Asyut Petroleum


The National Bank of Egypt also edged out Asyut Petroleum with a 1-0 victory. The decisive moment came in the 79th minute when Osama Faisal converted a penalty earned by Yaw Annor.. The National Bank will face the winner of Al Masry vs. Wadi Degla in the next round.



Ceramica Cleopatra 3-0 La Viena


Ceramica Cleopatra delivered a good result, defeating La Viena 3-0. Abdallah Magdy opened the scoring in the 31st minute. Second half goals arrived for the Premier League club from Ahmed Belhaj in the 49th minute and Ayman Moka in the 84th minute.


This win sets up a clash between Ceramica Cleopatra and Tala'ea El-Gaish in the Round of 16.



Smouha 1-0 Suez


In the final game of the day, Smouha overcame Suez with a 1-0 victory. Mohamed Salem scored the decisive goal in the second minute of added time in the first half.


The match also featured an emotional moment when Smouha’s head coach Ahmed Sami substituted Ahmed Khaled after bringing him on earlier in the game as a substitute. Sami was seen consoling the player after the decision.


With this win, Smouha advances to face ZED FC in the Round of 16.
