Mahdy Soliman, the goalkeeper of the Egyptian national team and Al-Ittihad Alexandria Club, sustained a serious injury during his team's match against Tala'ea El Gaish on Saturday in the Egyptian Premier League.
Soliman suffered a fracture in the fibula bone of his foot following a challenge from a Tala'ea El Gaish player while attempting to avoid the tackle. Initial medical examinations confirmed the fracture. Recovery time for such injuries typically ranges from 6 to 8 weeks without surgery. However, returning to full sports activity could extend the total recovery time to approximately 8 to 12 weeks, including rehabilitation.

It is worth noting that Mahdy Soliman has been part of the Egyptian national team squad in recent times and is considered a key player for his club in the domestic league. After a career spent mostly as a backup or rotation keeper, the 37-year-old is enjoying a career renaissance with Al-Ittihad resulting in his call to the national team where he is still yet to debut.
