
Egyptian coach Hossam El Badry has been officially appointed as the new head coach of Libyan club Al Ahly Tripoli.
He replaces former manager Didier Gomes and returns for a second stint with the club, having previously led them in 2013.
El Badry boasts a distinguished coaching career, having managed the Egyptian national team and achieved success with Al Ahly in Egypt.
During El Badry's tenure with the Cairo giants, he secured multiple trophies, including the CAF Champions League, three Egyptian Premier League titles, the CAF Super Cup, the Egypt Cup, and three Egyptian Super Cups.
Beyond Egypt, Hossam El Badry has coached several clubs across Africa and the Middle East, including CS Sfaxien (Tunisia), ES Sétif (Algeria), Al-Zawraa (Iraq), and Al-Merrikh (Sudan).
His appointment at Al Ahly Tripoli reunites him with Hady Khashaba, who currently serves as the club’s sporting director and head of football. The two previously worked together at Pyramids FC in Egypt.
Al Ahly Tripoli currently tops Group D of the Libyan Premier League with 36 points, six ahead of second-placed Al Madina, after 14 matches in a nine-team group.
