Every match on Thursday in the Egyptian Premier League was hard fought with two draws and a narrow victory in the opening match for visitors Petrojet at El Gaish.

The most notable match of the day featured CAF Confederation Cup reigning champions Zamalek against visiting Ceramica Cleopatra. After the teams exchanged goals in the opening twenty minutes, Zamalek controlled the second half but could not find a winning goal in a 1-1 result.

Zamalek appear to be on their way to a smooth transition with new coach Christian Gross but for now the Cairo club failed to gain ground on leaders Al Masry who were also held to a draw at Haras El Hodoud. Masry still have yet to concede a goal in their five league matches so far but could not find a breakthrough despite dominated Thursday's match.

Forward Badr Moussa scored the only goal in the first half in a 1-0 result that went in favor of newly promoted Petrojet at El Gaish. Making their return to the top division this season after five years spent in the second tier, Thursday marked the Suez club's first Premier League victory since April 2019.
