Egyptian Premier League: Chibi leads Pyramids to dominant victory over Pharco

The second day of Round 6 in the Egyptian Premier League (Nile League) featured three matches: Ismaily vs. Haras El Hodoud, Al Ittihad vs. Modern Sport, and Pyramids vs. Pharco.


Ismaily 2–2 Haras El Hodoud


The first match ended in an entertaining 2-2 draw between Ismaily and Haras El Hodoud.


Haras El Hodoud opened the scoring in the 25th minute through Mohamed Mamdouh, who converted a brilliant cross from Trésor Mofossé with a well placed strike inside the penalty area. They doubled their lead in the 47th minute when Ismaily’s Mohamed Bayoumi accidentally scored an own goal with a header following a long ball from Haras El Hodoud’s Fawzy El Hanawy.


However, Ismaily fought back in the second half. Aly El Malwany reduced the deficit in the 53rd minute with a close-range shot inside the box and Marwan Hamdy equalized in the 64th minute from the penalty spot.



With this draw, Ismaily moved to 6 points and sits 11th in the standings, while Haras El Hodoud remains in the bottom with just 3 points.


Al Ittihad 0–0 Modern Sport


The second match saw Al Ittihad and Modern Sport play out a goalless draw.


Al Ittihad now occupies 6th place with 9 points while Modern Sport is in 17th place with 4 points.


Pyramids 3–0 Pharco


In the day’s final match, Pyramids secured a 3-0 victory over Pharco.

Mohamed Chibi opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with a brilliant long-range shot after Pharco goalkeeper Mohamed Shika fell out of position. Sodiq Awujoola doubled Pyramids' lead in the 53rd minute with a shot from inside the box after receiving a cross from Ibrahim Adel and Fiston Mayele completed the rout in the 68th minute, finishing a one-on-one chance following a solo effort by Mohamed Chibi.



This win elevates Pyramids to 11 points, placing them second in the league table on goal difference behind Zamalek. Pharco is in 11th place with 7 points.
