Egyptian Premier League: Jaziri continues his redemption in Zamalek victory

Zamalek secured a big 4-1 victory over El Gouna in the 10th round of the Egyptian Premier League (Nile League), further strengthening their position in the race for the top spots.


The scoring opened early in the 7th minute with Nasser Mansi heading home a cross from Ahmed Sayed Zizo to give Zamalek the lead.


El Gouna managed to equalize in the 37th minute through Ahmed Hossam, who redirected his teammate Ahmed Abd Elgawad Taalab's shot with a header past Zamalek goalkeeper Mohamed Awad.


In the second half, Zamalek took control. Seifeddine Jaziri doubled the score in the 64th minute, capitalizing on a defensive mix-up between El Gouna’s goalkeeper and defender inside the box to slot the ball into the net.


The third goal came in the 73rd minute from Abdallah El Said, returning from injury, who punished a poor clearance by El Gouna keeper Mohamed Alaa with a composed finish into an empty net.


Jaziri scored the 4th goal and his second of the match in the fifth minute of injury time, connecting with a low cross from Nabil Emad Dunga and finishing to make it 4-1. After his future appeared to be with another club, Jaziri continues to produce with four goals in his last three matches for The White Castle.



With this victory, Zamalek climbs to second place with 20 points, level with Al Ahly in third but ahead on goal difference. Meanwhile, El Gouna is now at the bottom of the table in 18th place with six points following their fifth consecutive defeat.


The Nile League’s upcoming round promises a top encounter as Zamalek faces Pyramids in the top match of the week on Friday at 5 PM GMT. Later today, 5th placed Al Masry is in action hosting ENPPI while Modern Sport play at Haras El Hodoud.
