Pyramids secure top spot with narrow 1-0 win over ZED

Pyramids FC climbed to the top of the Nile League standings with a 1-0 away victory against ZED FC.

The game’s only goal came in the 80th minute when Congolese forward Fiston Mayele capitalized on a loose ball in the box. After a cross was flicked by Ali Gabr, the ball fell kindly to Mayele who struck it cleanly into the net.

With this victory, Pyramids now lead the league table with 20 points, while ZED is in 7th place with 13 points.

This game marks the second loss for ZED FC this season in the league.

The next round will be crucial as Al Ahly hosts Pyramids FC on Sunday, January 26th, at 5 PM GMT.

Ceramica Cleopatra and Al Ittihad settle for a 1-1 draw

In another encounter, Ceramica Cleopatra and Al Ittihad shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Kareem El Deeb opened the scoring for Al Ittihad in the 71st minute with a well-executed team play. However, Ragab Nabil equalized for Ceramica Cleopatra in the 83rd minute with a header.

The result means Ceramica Cleopatra maintain their unbeaten run this season, with the only exception being a loss to Al Ahly in the opening round.
