The first day of Matchday 7 in the Nile League 2024/2025 kicked off and featured two encounters: Haras El Hodood vs. Tala’a El Gaish and Zamalek vs. Al Ittihad of Alexandria.
Zamalek stays on top with a win over Al Ittihad
In the second match of the day, league leaders Zamalek defeated Al Ittihad 2-0 at Cairo International Stadium.
Nasser Mansi broke the deadlock in the 66th minute after a passing sequence led to his sixth goal this season in all competitions. The ball reached Omar Gaber who delivered a low cross for Mansi to head in the opener.
The second goal came in the 72nd minute when Nabil Emad Dunga unleashed a long-range shot that deflected off Al Ittihad’s Karim El Deeb, resulting in an own goal. With this victory, Zamalek strengthens its position at the top of the Nile League standings with 14 points while Al Ittihad is in 7th place with 9 points.
Haras El Hodoud clinches first win of the season
Haras El Hodoud secured a 3-0 victory over Tala’a El Gaish in the opening game of the round.
Hazem Mohamed headed in the opener in the 23rd minute after a cross from Fawzi El Henawy. Trésor Mofossé doubled the lead in the 57th minute.
Abd AlRahman Gouda sealed the win with a header in the 82nd minute, once again assisted by a cross from Fawzi El Henawy marking his second assist of the match.
This victory marks Haras El Hodoud’s first win of the season in the Egyptian Premier League. The newly promoted side now in the 14th place with 7 points, while Tala’a El Gaish remains on 8 points in 10th place.
