Zamalek continued their winning streak on Thursday with a 3-2 victory against Haras El Hodoud in the eighth round of the Egyptian Premier League.

The scoring in the game began with Zamalek’s Ahmed Sayed "Zizo" opening the scoring in the 12th minute. The Zamalek playmaker capitalized on a chest pass from teammate Omar Gaber inside the penalty area and slotted the ball into the net.

Haras El Hodoud equalized in the 25th minute through a penalty converted by Mohamed Ashraf "Roqa," a former Zamalek player.

Zamalek regained the lead in the 36th minute when Mostafa Shalaby found the net. A pass from teammate Mohamed Shehata left Shalaby one-on-one with the goalkeeper and he made no mistake in finishing. Zizo added his second and Zamalek’s third goal in the sixth minute of first-half stoppage time, converting a penalty to give his side a 3-1 lead before the break.

In the 86th minute, Haras El Hodoud reduced the deficit as Mahmoud Mamdouh scored from the penalty spot. However, it wasn’t enough to deny Zamalek the win before full time.

With this victory, Zamalek's points tally rose to 17, propelling them to second place in the league table, ahead of Pyramids on goal difference. Meanwhile, Haras ElHodoud is in 16th place with just six points.
