The 2024/25 Ethiopian Cup draw has been made official by the Ethiopian Football Federation earlier today with a few duels featuring Ethiopian Premier League clubs facing each other in the Round of 32. The draw was made at the EFF headquarters in Addis Ababa on Friday.
For the second season running clubs from the lower divisions are participating in the knock out tournament. Clubs from the first division and the second tier Higher League are expected to take part. Financial woes at some clubs left lower division sides forfeiting past Ethiopian Cup encounters.

Holders Ethiopian Coffee commence their title defence against Premier League newcomers Sihul Shire. Record champions Saint George are up against Hawassa Ketema. In another all top flight affair reigning league champions Commercial Bank of Ethiopia will play Ethio- Electric.
The EFF have yet to confirm the venues and dates of the games. Ethiopian Coffee beat Wolayta Dicha 2-1 to get crowned champions in 2023/24. The winner of the competition will qualify to the qualifying stages of the 2025-26 CAF Confederation Cup.
