Ethiopian Premier League: CBE bounce back; Mekele and Arbaminch settle for a draw

The 17th round of the Ethiopian Premier League kicked off on Tuesday with reigning champions Commercial Bank of Ethiopia scoring late to seal a win over Adama Ketema. Mekele 70 Enderta and Arbaminch Ketema played out a two all draw in the earlier fixture.


CBE struck twice late to beat Adama Ketema 2-0 in Adama. Tamirat Ephrem and Kitika Jima were on the scoresheet for the Addis Ababa side. The win handed Betselot Luelseged's charges to move out of the relegation zone as they are 13th with 18 points. Adama Ketema are in the relegation zone with 15 points following their fourth defeat in a row.



Mekele 70 Enderta and Arbaminch Ketema settled for a two all draw. Yared Birhanu and Bona Ali scored for the North Ethiopian side. The Crocodiles got their goals from in form striker Ahmed Hussien and Fikadu Mekonnen.



Arabminch are sixth with 23 points while Mekele are 7th with a point behind. Action continues on Wednesday with Saint George facing Wolayta Dicha while Ethiopian Coffee duel with Bahirdar Ketema.
