Ethiopian Coffee failed to close the gap on log leaders Ethiopian Insurance after their draw against Hawassa Ketema in Week 22 of the Ethiopian Premier League. Ethio Electric returned to winning ways following their win over Sihul Shire at Adama.
In a very dull affair, Ethiopian Coffee and Hawassa Ketema played out a goalless draw to kick off proceedings on Sunday. The tie saw few scoring chances as the Browns missed out on a golden chance to close the gap on leaders Insurance. Coffee are second with 33 points, five points behind Ethiopian Insurance while Hawassa Ketema sit 15th in the relegation zone on 20 points.
Ethio Electric defeated Sihul Shire 1-0 to bounce back after two successive losses. Yared Yemane scored from a direct corner kick in the 42nd minute to hand the Addis side the victory. They are ninth with 28 points while Shire are 17th with 15 points.
