In the last games of round 13, Hadiya Hosaina missed out on a chance to reclaim positions as leaders of the Ethiopian Premier League. Ethiopian Insurance beat Wolayta Dicha as they continued on their unbeaten form.
Hadiya Hosaina and Fasil Kenema played out a one all draw in Adama. Former Ethiopian Coffee striker Biruk Beyene gave the Hosaina side the lead in the first interval.
Nonetheless, the Emperors equalized ten minutes before full time through Ugandan forward Martin Kizza. Kizza has now scored three goals equaling his teammate and veteran Ethiopian striker Getaneh Kebede. Hadiya Hosaina are now second with 23 points while Fasil Kenema sits ninth with 16 points.
Ethiopian Insurance came from behind to beat Wolayta Dicha 2-1. Gebremedhin Haile’s charges are in a very good form. The Sodo side took the lead through Bizuayehu Seifu but center back Million Solomon and Mohammed Abera struck to turn the table around. Insurance goalie Abubakher Nura assisted Abera’s winner.
Ethiopian Insurance are on an eight-game unbeaten run, accumulating five wins while drawing in three matches. Their last defeat occurred on October 22, 2024 at the hands of Sidama Coffee. Insurance have now announced as a title chasers as they are fourth with 20 points. Wolayta Dicha drop to 10th place with 16 points.
The league will resume on January 13 with Saint George hosting Sihul Shire.
