Bahirdar Ketema took the bragging rights of the Tana Derby after inflicting a 2-1 defeat to Fasil Kenema on Sunday in Week 19 of the Ethiopian Premier League in Adama. Reigning champions Commercial Bank of Ethiopia were held to a draw by Wolayta Dicha in the later kick off.

The two Amhara clubs fought for supremacy as Bahirdar scored late to beat one time Ethiopian champions Fasil Kenema. Chernet Gugesa bagged a second half brace to hand the Waves of Tana a much needed win over the Emperors. A Fitsum Alemu through ball freed Gugesa to open the scoring after the resumption. Five minutes later veteran striker Getaneh Kebede leveled matters with a rebound after Bahirdar keeper Pape Seydou saved his spot kick.

The former Saint George man Gugesa struck a beautiful freekick to send Bahirdar supporters into a frenzy. Bahirdar are fifth with 26 points following the result. Fasil Kenema are ninth with 23 points.

CBE failed to take advantage of their numerical superiority as they played to a one all draw against Wolayta Dicha. CBE took an early lead through Kitika Jema. The Sodo club was reduced to 10 men after Kennedy Kebede received his marching order in the first half. Nonetheless, Tsegaye Kebede equalized for Dicha who held off CBE to earn a point.

Wolayta Dicha are eighth with 24 points while CBE are 12th with 22 points.
