On Monday, record Ethiopian champions Saint George beat Sihul Shire by a solitary goal as they chase leaders Mechal in week 14 of the Ethiopian Premier League. It was an awful night for Adama Ketema in the other fixture after losing 2-0 to Arbaminch Ketema.

Saint George defeated Sihul Shire 1-0 courtesy of a goal from summer arrival Fitsum Tilahun. Tilahun’s first half strike was enough to hand the Horsemen three valuable points.

North Ethiopian side Sihul Shire have now failed to beat Saint George in four Premier League encounters. For Saint George, Fasil Tekalgen's charges have now recorded three straight wins as they move to fourth position with 21 points, three points shy of leaders Mechal.

In the other fixture, Arbaminch Ketema emerged victorious over Adama Ketema. First half goals from Ahmed Hussien and Befiker Gizaw were enough to down Adama at the Adama Science and Technology University.

Arbaminch Ketema bounced back to be 11th with 16 points. Adama Ketema’s poor run of form continued as they dropped to 13th with 15 points.
