Table toppers Ethiopian Insurance suffered a shocking 1-0 to Wolayta Dicha in Saturday's action from the Ethiopian Premier League. Fasil Kenema lost again as Arbaminch Ketema clinched a massive win.
Gebremedhin Haile's Insurance side hoped to extend their lead at the top of the league but Wolayta Dicha made sure that plan faded away. The Sodo club struck in the first half to send their supporters into a frenzy. Tsegaye Birhanu headed in a corner kick in the sixth minute to hand Dicha a decisive victory after the Insurance defense was caught napping.
After the interval, Insurance showed glimpses of what they are capable of but were inept in creating chances. Dicha controlled the tempo of the game to hold on and collect all three points. Ethiopian Insurance remain at the top of the standings with 35 points. Wolayta Dicha climbed up to seventh with 27 points.
Ten man Arbaminch Ketema scored early to hand Fasil Kenema back-to-back league defeats. Saint George loanee Tamirat Iyassu bagged the crucial goal less than two minutes into the proceedings. Nonetheless, Iyassu received his marching orders after 14 minutes as the Crocodiles fought hard to hold out and take home three points.
Arbaminch Ketema are now sixth with 27 points. The Emperors of Fasil Kenema are 12th with 23 points.
