After thirteen matches upon their return to the top flight of Ethiopian football, Wolwalo Adigrat University finally earned their first victory on Sunday with a surprise 1-0 result over contenders Hadiya Hosaina.

Hadiya Hosaina had an excellent opportunity to move level with league leaders Ethiopian Insurance but the Tigers seriously underestimated an opponent desperate for a positive result.

Former Adama City and Saint George striker Bulcha Shura scored the only goal of the match from a well planned set piece to give Wolwalo a result that more than doubles their point total to five points from fourteen matches.

In the later match on Sunday, Sidama Coffee fell to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Ethio Electric. Natnael Gebregiorgis delivered a quick one-two punch to Sidama with the former Fasil Kenema player scoring two first half goals in a three minute span. Ethio Electric climb up to 12th place, one point of Sidama in 11th position.

The league will take one day off before commencing with the 17th round on Tuesday with CBE facing Adama City while Mekele clash with Arbaminch Ketema in the early match.
